Overview

This build is for those game-modes where small area and/or defense-objective is to be protected. It does also work for a more 'mobile' defense-objectives where an operative is to kept alive - but it's a bit more painful to do there and i would rather suggest a Trinity or a Limbo for those. The build not alone focus on the strength of Frosts

but also on survivability against high level enemies.

Build requirements

Frost and Frost Prime both have a MR-requirement of zero. The build will need 2 Formas on a Frost Prime (one for a Madurai and one for Varazin)and likely 3 Formas on the normal Frost (one extra Varazin).

I use the Mods 'Prime Flow' and 'Adaptation' in this build, whereas the normal version 'Flow' would be more than enough in most cases and 'Adaptation' can be exchanged something else too, but it sure makes life easier. An exchange to 'Armored Agility' or 'Vitality' would be the logical solution for those who not yet own 'Adaptation', for they use the same polarity (Varazin).

The following stats are for Frost Prime - the normal Frost only differs in -25 shield basr-value.

Weapons

Depending on what you will face in terms on enemy-type and level, the choice of weapons is is a personal one - i'd suggest a strong range weapon though which you can use within the safty of your globe. I personally favor a rattlegut kitgun with max. damage, a critical build and a

Usage

The usage of this build is pretty easy and straight forward since only the

ability is used (with one little exception when you want to destroy your own globe with frosts 1st.

Depending on enemies and their level, a multi-cast of

at the defense position might be required since they add their total hitpoints together - i'd suggest though not multicasting to many if you face nullifying enemies (especially in fissure missions where nullifier might be spawned right into your globe). In any case, you should start the mission by filling up your energy - the 'Zenurik' focus-school might be a good choice therefore. other ways like 'Energy Restores', syndicate weapons (and mods) as well as running in a team with a Trinity, Limbo or Nekros is also helpful.

Be careful about where to setup your

- many players hate getting their range fire blocked by a globe, so keep the globe to the point-defense-location (e.g. the excavator or console ) or, in case of short-term defense, destroy your globe after you don't need it anymore via

For the multi-casting of a

in defense mission where a moving operative is the target to protect, you'll have to work a good bit on preventing to annoy the other team members with constantly 4 globes on the map - either time the casting in a way that the globe will move with the operative, destroy the globes that are not needed anymore or simply wait for the operative to assume a location for the rest of the wave.

Even though Frost may look vulnerable, his high amrmor, shield and, if you use them, 'Adaptation' and the Arcanes will make him durable enough to move outside his globe too - just don't try to tank with him...

(within an existing globe) you will also push every enemies, that worked their way inside of the globe, out of it again while also dealing upto 50% of their health as 'true damage' and also freezing them e.g. a level 155 Corpus Tech would be killed by about 3 times throwing him against a wall via

casing... not a reliable tactic in real gameplay because the energy needed and the moving enemies, but still a nice extra beside getting them away from the globe - and viable in close quarters and bottle-neck locations (but then, only really against high-level enemies that would else take a lot of ammo to kill).

Even though frost prime has high base shields, I recommend swapping out redirection for vitality and arcane aegis for arcane grace. While adaptation applies to shields and can give you some nice tankiness when combined with a shield arcane, it pales in comparison to the combined effects of armor, grace, and adaptation. It would also allow you to get rid of the awful rejuvenation aura.

Lastly, blind range isn't really necessary for a snow globe build. Yeah, you want 200 str for chilling globe, but you also want a lot of efficiency so that you can reinforce the globe over and over and over. When enemy levels get high enough, the only thing that will keep the globe intact is the 4 second absorb window tied to the cast.
